Free Press- Emily Elhoffer
Emily Elhoffer is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores body and form. Emily shows work regularly in st. louis, milwaukee, and kansas city. Her work is known for curvelinear sculptural forms that appear soft, round, velveteen and lumpy. her use of elastic media evokes the behavior of the body- flexing, stretching and wrinkling. With Emily the project focused on an illustration of an imagined space called the "Lumpyroom". This 8 layer silkscreen on Holographic substrate was enhanced with flocked rayon fibers that reference emily’s flocked work. Together the holographic paper and Flocked elements presents a space that is shiny, soft, lumpy and comforting.
