Free Press- Vince Stemmler

Vincent Stemmler is an interdisciplinary artist from St. Louis whose work is often a contemplation on the interplay between identity, place and loss. Vincent received a bfa from the school of the art institute of chicago and an mfa from southern illinois university edwardsville. vincent is currently an adjunct professor at florissant valley community college in missouri, teaching ceramics and drawing classes. This project with Vince resulted in a Variable edition featuring repeating section of wall on 6 backgrounds and 3 different colorways. These screenprints utilize cmyk process, halftones and color gradients to create an everchanging location while the wall remains ever-present and unchanging.
